Dawson’s Garden World cultivates excellence with major award win
At the recent annual 2010 Nursery & Garden Industry WA Awards, Dawson’s Garden World Forrestfield was named the ‘Best Large Garden Centre’ in Western Australia and recognised for its exceptional performance and outstanding achievements over the past year. Dawson’s Garden World is a landmark in Forrestfield, established over a hundred years ago the garden centre still stands in the original site and is still a family run business. The place that now houses the coffee shop is the site where the original Dawson family lived. Ian Dawson, grandson of the founder, still runs the successful Dawson’s Garden World, with four branches across Western Australia.
Gavin Dalton, Forrestfield Store Manger attributes the success to years of servicing the community. “We never tire of servicing the community, educating our staff in new practices such as being waterwise, or developing new aspects of the centre,” he said.
Dawson’s Garden World Forrestfield is an all round destination. Gavin said “we have a kids’ maze, and al fresco area, coffee shop, bikes for kids to ride on and new display gardens which really makes Dawson’s Garden World much more than a garden centre.”
The ‘Best Large Garden Centre’ award acknowledges certain garden retailers that best display extraordinary business operation and dedication to work ethic on a daily basis.
